“Look at the birds (sparrows) of the air, that they do not sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?” Matthew 6:26
A few weeks ago, Eric and I were driving home from somewhere. We were on the driveway heading to the house. All of a sudden…. Read the rest of this entry »

sent me this award a couple of weeks ago. THANK YOU DONNA! I didn’t know how to put it in my blog so my techie son helped finally. Donna Schoonover got me started in Shetland sheep, and I have been bugging her with questions ever since! She has very patiently answered them over the years. I have learned a lot from her. And she is VERY kind to her animals.
The criteria for this award is answering some questions, so here goes…

I am an Olympics nut. I have been since I was 12 years old in 19##. So I have been GLUED to the TV set this last week, in between homeschooling, dishes, errands, critters and church. Not much else is getting done. I’m squeezing in a post before the evening Olympics come on in a 1/2 hour. Names like Apollo Ohno, Lindsey Von, Shaun White, are household words here right now. As I watch with the kids, I reminisce about past Olympics and recall outstanding feats. Such as Jean Claude Killy winning 3 alpine skiing medals in 1968, the miracle US Hockey team winning the gold medal in 1980, etc, etc. They feign interest but really, they are thinking, “Mom’s being nostalgic again”, (and showing her age!).
I did see some “chicken olympics” the other day. A certain hen has discovered that llamas are warm. She has taken to roosting on them at night, and riding around on them during the day. My daughter has started feeding her on top of poor Sedro! She pecks and scratches around on top of him. He doesn’t even feel it. She gets a gold medal for “llama riding”, and llama jumping”, as she was hopping from llama to llama. Obviously she didn’t want to walk in the mud, as it is “mud season” around here. Unfortunately I didn’t have the camera handy so no pictures.
So, my husband is an Olympics widower till next weekend. He’ll have a reprieve for 2 years till the summer games.
Until next time…
