Ondra’s special house chickens survived her absence last week (she stayed with her friend in Tacoma area for 10 days). Phew! I didn’t want any of them dying on MY watch. Those Seramas are so delicate. And Buckeye, her MOST special of all the pets she’s EVER had, cannot run out of water, otherwise, he will have a seizure if he drinks too much water at one time. So I was anal about making sure he had water at ALL times. Between Eric and I, we kept everyone alive.
Last week and this week has been really rainy. I know that is good for the soil, and heaven knows we need the rain, but it also creates MUD. We live in a pocket of private land surrounded by Wenatchee National Forest. The nearest paved road is 4 miles away, so when it rains heavily, the road gets MUDDY. We did have a nice day last week, however, and I went for a walk…
- The national forest is only 300 yards away. Heidi, Ozzie leading the way
- Heidi’s laughing at my joke
- Ozzie admiring the view, He says, “It’s better than living in the city!”
- Balsalm Root
- I don’t have a garden, so I enjoy God’s garden. He does a better job than I would have anyway.
- Ponderosa pines, and Doug firs, coming back 16 years after the big Tyee burn
- Ponderosa pine and Doug, coming back after the 1994 Tyee burn
- lupine
- Molly chipmunking
- More beautiful scenery
- All 3 dogs chipmunking. They never catch any, but have fun trying.
- Dedicated chipmunkers
- MUDDY road. Eric and I got stuck here the night before.
- Are you sure this is May, and not MARCH??!!!!!
- And last, but NOT least, cute lamb bums
- and….happy sheep
